The greatest experience, the one which shakes a soul with hopes and fears, the results of which are never ending, and incidentally, the one which pays the biggest dividends, is to be found in the adoption of children.--Anonymous

Ouch and Gotcha!!

Well, I was having problems with my back back in October and finally went to the doctor in December. I followed the plan of ibuprofen, ice and exercise and it improved until last Friday when I had severe pain from my butt to my ankle that did not go away. It would come and go and my doctor thinks it is sciatica, but I go for a physical therapy eval on Thursday. The pain today was excruciating. I am fine as long as I don't stand or walk (very difficult to do with a walking 10-month-old and a 4 1/2 year old). I am hoping someone cancels tomorrow due to bad weather so I can get in. I have 5 weeks until I go back to work and I need to get better.

Today is Benjamin's Gotcha Day. He has been home 4 years and enjoys celebrating his Gotcha Day. He has a little song he sings and I made cupcakes. I asked him what special dinner he would like and he said Pokemon macaroni and cheese!! I am really a pretty good cook, but I agreed with his request since it made my life easier today. I made it in to his preschool this morning to read an adoption book, share photos and eat cupcakes. The kids had lots of comments and questions (none related to adoption). Benjamin was very proud that I was there and I am happy to be able to share in field trips and other preschool activities while I am on leave from work. It is wonderful to be so loved and cherished.

Hope your back gets better. That has to be really hard. Take care and take it easy as much as you can!
