The greatest experience, the one which shakes a soul with hopes and fears, the results of which are never ending, and incidentally, the one which pays the biggest dividends, is to be found in the adoption of children.--Anonymous

Mallory is home!

For those of you who do not know the story, we had hoped to have the director from AIAA, who was in Korea last week, escort Mallory home. Since she was returning on Friday and 2 days notice is the shortest notice given for travel, we figured if did not have a phone call by Wednesday we would be waiting longer. So on Thursday at 12:05PM I received a phone call from AIAA in Michigan that my daughter was arriving the next day at 1:20PM!! I was shocked and excited and frantic about everything that I had to do. The rest was just a whirlwind of excitement and little sleep. We rented a mini-van and Rich's parents came along. We drove through the night to Detrtoit, Michigan. We arrived at our hotel at 4:39AM on Friday and slept for 3 hours. Mallory's flight was arriving at 12:52PM and 3 other Korean babies and one Chinese baby were on the flight from other agencies. Mallory around 1:45PM and was very pleasant. She cried when we put her in the carseat intially, but quickly stopped and slept most of our 2 day trip home as long at the car was moving. She is teething and had a little diaper rash so the first night she didn't sleep much, but slept more at home last night. She wakes instantly when I put her in the crib so I slept with last night, but will be working hard at getting her to like her crib. Well, I knew a lot of you were waiting for photos so I wanted to get this post out. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We are home safely.

Someone just told me you love your children but you fall in love with your grandchildren. That is so true. We have another precious child to love.

Enjoy your daughter.
