The greatest experience, the one which shakes a soul with hopes and fears, the results of which are never ending, and incidentally, the one which pays the biggest dividends, is to be found in the adoption of children.--Anonymous

Need prayers

People are speculating that it could take a long time (years) for Guatemala to be ready to start adoptions again. We are now left trying to decide if we should wait or switch to another program. We are considering Vietnam, but we will be losing money and will need to do another dossier (all that paperwork). We have considered not adopting again as an option, but Benjamin talks about having a sister almost every day. We are just afraid to change to another program again. Keep us in your prayers.

Melissa,
I visited your blog for the first time today after seeing the address on the yahoo chat site. We share a love of the quote listed for your header. I also posted that quote on our blog. I can't imagine being in your shoes. I'm sure the wait must be extremely difficult, but I just won't believe that adoptions are going to be so long starting up again. My oldest two children are married and have fertility problems. They both are looking to Guatemala as a possibility for starting their families. We are currently in the process of our second Guatemala adoption. We were on the waiting list for one year before we got the referral of our first little girl in 2004. The wait was excruciating and I'm sure it is for you too. We just can't give up on all of the children in Guatemala who still need loving families. The new President in Guat. is a good man who I'm sure has a good heart. Even if adoptions are not the biggest issue for his administration, I do feel in my heart that he will not let this issue fall through the cracks. I'll keep you in my prayers. Don't give up yet!
